The Nanny state is definitely alive and well and even thinking up new ways to control us plebs. Their newest idea is to fit satelite controlled 'black boxes' to cars which would enable them to initiate 'pay as you drive'. Unfortunately, what this also brings with it is the ability for the government to accurately pin point us at any time of the day or night.
What is more worying to someone like me who has quite a heavy right foot is that there is talk about the box issuing automatic speeding fines whenever a driver breaks the speed limit.
Now I do understand the 'safety first' philiosophy but you have to agree, there is a limit to it. And, if you combine the ability to track mobile telephones with the ability to track your car then you have to admit it, if you were thinking of robbing a bank, doing a drive by shooting or even just playing around on your partner, you may as well drive straight to the police station and give yourself up.
